Wardie's Way
Raising funds for research into childrens' cancers

FEATURES / UPDATES
Having originally set-out to raise €50,000 to support research into children's cancers, during the pandemic Wardie's Way went a step further, and smashed through the €100,000 barrier, with a latest total of
€109,093
This was announced at the "Big Announcement" concert,
held in Tervuren, Belgium, on Friday 15th October 2021.
For those that couldn't be there, a recording of the concert is available below:

In the last 12 months, "Wardie's Way" has donated a total of €34,000 to the wonderful people working in the Gent Children's Hospital, who continue to care for, and research solutions for, children's cancers.
The first €10,000 contributed to the creation of a post dedicated to
centralising the results of international tests into children's cancers,
to try to improve visibility of trends and theories
(performed by Charlotte, pictured right).
The remaining €24,000 has been put towards the continued work to to look for genetic predisposition. Genevieve Laureys and Tim Lammens from the Gent team explained; "If we find aberrant genes we have to study the function of these genes to determine if they have a role in the process of cancer development, so the project for sure will not be finished in the near future".
A big thanks to all you kind contributors to "Wardie's Way" for helping us to help these wonderful people in the vital work they are performing every day.

My great friends in our "Cobblers Bottoms" cycle club held TWO (socially distanced) charity rides during the pandemic and, in the process, kindly donated
€1,550.
A wonderful result. Thanks all!
Thanks to you all for your very kind donations to support
Leonie's wonderful #4for4 fundraising
and awareness campaign.
Thanks to Leonie's initiative, she has raised a fantastic
€1,700
for "Wardie's Way".
BIG THANKS Leonie 😊
